Troubleshooting - Wiimote

    Hi,

Is anyone else having a problem with the Wiimote ? If so, what are any of your suggested solutions.

Picked up a Wii this evening (after weeks and weeks of trying to get one!), came home , hooked it up and played Wii Sports for a while and everything worked fine. (Liked the boxing game the best, could be the effect of watching Rocky Balboa!)

Popped in Red Steel and couldnt get any further than the UbiSoft advert.

Supposed to press A on the Wiimote, but Wiimote not responding. Popped it out, reset and tried again , same problem, Wiimote not responding.

    Resynched the Wiimote.

Popped in the Wii Sports game in again and still same problem, Wiimote completely non responsive.

Any tips , any help would be much appreciated.

when you say you resynced the remote, did you press both the red button under the flap on the front of the Wii and then the red button under the battery cover on the Wiimote?

I had a problem with my wiimote today. It was working fine and all of a sudden the pointer dissappeared from the screen and it stopped working.

No matter what button I pressed on the wiimote,it would not register on the screen. When I pressed a button, the 4 blue leds at the bottom of the wiimote all flashed together at the same time.

    I tried changing batteries,no luck.Resync the wiimot,no luck.Tries
d resync again while holding the resync button on the wii itself as well and no luck.

I reset the console a couple of time and eventually the wiimote started working again, very strange.

Hopefully this is a one off and not a sign of something terminal.

    Anyone else having similar problems?

I've found the wiimotes a little temperamental too. I find that if I've been playing with one wiimote and then later come back and try to use a different wiimote, the wii won't detect it. I've tried re-synching (i.e. pressing the red button on the wii and in the wiimote simultaneously) but this rarely works. It's like the Wii decides which wiimote is the 1P wiimote, and then you're stuck using that one until the battery dies.

I've also had numerous problems playing multiplayer. The wii doesn't always pick up the second wiimote. It's been a fair pain in the backside, tbh.

Apparently, plugging out the console should sort this problem out.
