Saw it alright, looks like a handy way to get some of the more common Manga titles. Holding out on a verdict until we get some reports back :)

just saw the ad i think? 5.50euro, but the DVD 'free' was Ghost in the Shell.

Normal price of 14 odd euro. Better off ordering everything else online tho, imho. Doubt there'll be any special features on the discs either, if thats the kinda thing that floats your boat.

edit: not sure if this is the official site (doesnt look very polished) http://www.mangacollection.co.uk/

Also, on play for 20euro, you can get 2disc akira and ninja scrolls, and 1 disc ghost/shell.

Basically the price of the first 2 magazines, but 3 no doubt better produced discs.

Finally! ,.... I got my copy of it. It comes with the basic version of Ghost in the Shell and a 4 page magazine outlining a brief summary of the story.

It's nice to see an anime-partworks kind of magazine on the market. I'd like to get them as collectable things, but for the forseeable future I'd imagine, understandably, they're all gonna be extremely common, atypical titles, as you'd expect.

I saw this myself while in London over the Christmas.

Would have bought it if the magazine that came with the dvd was a little more substantial. Seemed a bit pointless as I already have the film.

Nice to see Akira is coming out with it at some point. The world can always do with more akira fans >_<

Actually, On that site, in the Akira section, It has "Tetsuo" written over the picture of Tetsuo, but "Akira" written over the picture of Kaneda. Little odd, that.

Wow, I sent him an email and he actually changed it to Kaneda. Well I'll be darned, I actually did some good in the world :D

To be honest, apart from the first issue, it would probably just be cheaper to buy the proper dvds online somewhere.

The only other reason to get it is for the supplement. Which, if it were any good, I'd get every issue. But it seems to just be a sparse description of the film as someone said.

Which is a shame, as I'd happily support anyone thinking about launching a mainstream Anime/Manga related magazine.

    Bring back Manga Mania! >_<
