I've just been having another glance at Apple's Leopard preview...

    http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/index.html

...and TBH there's really not much in the way of new features that has me excited. I mean, Spaces looks interesting but it's mostly just an expansion of Exposé. And some of the new Mail features look handy but there's nothing groundbreaking really.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of under-the-hood improvements, of course, and Steve will probably reveal more features (perhaps the best ones) at MW ... but I guess I find Mac OS X fairly close to perfect as it is. Although Apple could certainly do with putting some quality effort into Safari while they still have some chance of competing with Firefox.

So what is everyone looking forward to, if anything, in Leopard?

Spaces and Time Machine for me. Rumours of a GUI overhaul too, which could be nice, though I've no problems with Aqua!

If there's no cut-and-paste in Finder (again!), I'll be very, very disappointed. You hear me, Apple?
    Disappointed.

I got a lend of the Leopard preview that was given out to developers a while back and installed it on a partition on an ext hd. I doesn't look much different really, some font variation and sizes, but as above the Time Machine app is very cool, does it just like on the video, your whole screen goes to that space shot. Hell I even tried copying the app to my main 10.4.8 install to see if it would work! - unsuccessfully I might add!
I use the 'Backup' app at the moment which seems to work ok and has saved me a couple of times but this app seems to be perfect for recovering to particular dates. The only drawback I can see is that (depending on the amount of HD space one has used) it would, at an optimum require the backup space to be equal to one's main HD.
I'd assume that the final version will have some other new nifty features as well!
