Sky+ with one LNB

    Hi,

Can anyone confirm if it is possible to have sky+ with one LNB - this is for reason too long drawn out to explain here? I fully realise that it is unlikely to allow me to watch and record at the same time, but will the sky+ box be able to function in terms of recording the programme I am watching at the time, or be set to record one channel whilst I'm away?

I'd appreciate a steer if anyone knows.

    Thanks
    PD

I know of one peson with the said set-up you describe, it appears to work for him.

One major issue that I see with this setup is that the sky plus box cannot tell which tuner is getting signal and therefore the sky box recorder may pick the dead tuner and you would miss your recording.

You may watch a channel and record it but I wouldn't trust the recording when you are out. You should get 50% of recordings.

    Yeah, I agree with Cal.

It will record what you're watching now, but as for setting the planner, it may use Tuner 2. Unless you set it to record 2 things at once while away, one thing will record, one obviously won't.

AFAIK, if you remember to leave the box in stand-by when you are going to record something later, it will record fine.

Yes but the sky box will not know which tuner to use.

If the box is in Standby as suggested by DMC, the box may use Tuner 1 first for recording.

If it's not in standby, it may default to using Tuner 2, as it presumes you're watchign something live on Tuner 1.
