Did you know yea can email your Wii (you need the from email address to be registered on your Wii). Just email w[insert Wii Code here with no spaces or dashes]@wii.com
If anything, its a nice way to keep the blue light on the front of the Wii on without any hardware mods.

it's a pity you can't reconcile your wii number to a nickname for a wii.com email address
i can't see quite myself in a pub telling a new pal to mail at 5645665464598802@wii.com

True, but neither can I see myself remembering my Wii code at all.

it wouldnt do any good unless you manually add every persons email to your wii first anyway.

    How do you do this?

Go into your wii message centre, address book, and add your email address. It'll then send you an email, reply to it to verify yourself to the console.

I thought i posted this here a few days ago but you can control the blue light in settings

If you go into your wii settings you can configure it

Wii settings > Wii Connect24 > Slot Illimination

You get 3 settings Bright / Dim / Off

Yeah, but that only controls how the blue light illuminates when you have a message waiting
