Guys, I have a bit of a dilema at the moment. Been offered a new job in a startup company who are setting up here in Ireland.
The are no 1 in what they supply in the UK and are intending to push into the Irish market with a product which is relatively new.
The product is mainly sold to the construction industry and currently there are about 2 companies who are supplying an "inferior product" in the Irish market.
They are intending to hire a manager and 3 other employees in a small setup initially, depending on the success of the product they will expand.
The industry I work in is currently the only one in the county, they will make it 2. I am in my current job nearly 4 years, they reckon that "we will watch to see if you can manage projects and there maybe a a manager position", but I am not sure if it is only talk, but it is a secure job. No bonus, no health or pension cover and a nice bit of OT.
The new company are offering the same money but a bonus linked to % of profit made. If I leave current job then if things don't go well I have a min 1.5 hour drive to get same job again. But there is a great potential IF things go well, as it is a startup. But then there is the risk, I cannot move out of this county due to committments.
So would you take it and hope that the risk works, or stay in the safe job!!!!!!
