I had that problem with my Jimi Hendrix pedal until I realised that all the knobs had been turned down at the factory. They were dual-control knobs with rings on the outside.

Does the guitar work fine plugged straight into an amp?

Check all your leads that you're using. Don't take this the wrong way but have you read the manual? Have you checked all the settings?

This is gonna sound stupid but have you got the leads in the right way? Guitar into input, amp into output?

Ye the guitar works grand, was p[laying wit al the other pedals hooked up this morning. The lead is grand too, everything is working fine.

Apartently ive been told that it requires an AC plug instead of a dc which i have in it at the moment? Sounds a bit strange, i buy all my effects in from america and never had a problem sorting the power out

The Whammy needs a specific AC adapter to work.

did u not get a power supply with it???

if not maybe you should invest in the offical digitech supply cos out of all the pedals i've used this has been the most choosy power supply wise.

Ive tried it with all the other digitech power supplies i have, nothing working.

What is the specifc AC adaptor it needs and il buy it, im dying to use might get one in town 2mrw

Also worth pointing out that my pod adapter works with my whammy fine and would probably be easier to find in town.

How much would a pod adaptor cost? Anyone know where you can get one in town?

Dont forget that there is a possibility youve broken it (or in the very least blown a fuse), by shoving the first adaptor you could lay your hands on into it.

Id just get the official Digitech adaptor, (it will only take a few days to get to you), and fingers crossed the whammy is alright.

Do any stores here stock the whammy that you could go in and check it out using one of their power adaptors?

Did the pedal work at all? My brothers whammy stopped working earlier this year in a similar manner - nothing but a faint little noise from it. There is a moving part inside it and this became dislodged, but was easily repaired also.
