Global audience domination Movies

I've just been to see Gibsons "Apocalypto" and it made me think, here is a guy who has just made a Billion dollars out of "Passion of the Christ". and his follow up to it is another fully Subtitled movie. Don't get me wrong its an excellent movie.
Gibson who has spent his whole life making movies, but up until now he realeases two movies that can be distributed extremely easy to a global audience with no extra cost. Making him reep the benifits in countries where distribution companies or countries themselves weren't interested in because they weren't in there native language. Whereas now the movie loses none of its intended experience or message.

I know you don't have to be a genius to figure it out that any movie can be given subtitles, but these two movies were created with global audiences in mind, making Gibson Billions. He definately knows his markets!!

I realise he's not the only director in the US doing it at the moment. Clint Eastwood is directing a sequel to "Flags of our father" called "Letters from IWO Jima" which is completey in Japanese.

    So here's my question?

From an Irish Movie Directors point of view, what project would you take on to target Global audiences?

For Example: Rowan Atkinson made Millions from his silent role as Mr Bean and he only made 14 episodes but it was sold to over 200 territories worldwide. Now he's worth 60 Million GBP.

Charlie Chaplin made $10.5 Million in the 1920's from silent movies.

Buster Keaton made $15.7 Million in the 1920,s also from silent movies.

Don't forget movies like "Fearless" Or "City of God".

    Again i ask:

From an Irish Movie Directors point of view, what project would you take on to target Global audiences?

    Your taughts are welcome............

first of all,he hasnt made ''billons'', just hundreds of millions
second of all, ''letters from two jima'' is not a sequeal to ''flags out our father'',but a story about the same war, told from a different side

the pain and suffering iraqi peole have suffered due to bush could be explotited and make ALOT of money.......and it will be

I would make the story of Chuculainn, the Irish legend. It would be marketed as being entirely in Gaelic, and you never know an epic like that if done properly i.e like Apocalypto, could even give the Irish language a small revival.

Was about to say the same thing, one of my favourite storys from Irish legend.
