    Morning!

I recently bought a targa DVD Recorder with HDD from lidl.

Its not a bad machine (feature wise). Its beginning to annoy me!
The remote control is not really responsive and I found out this morning that I can't watch from HDD and record onto DVD at the same time. I thought it could do this.

So I'm looking for a new one with the following

Hard Disk size around 160 GB
    Would like divx
watch and record at the same time

Budget can be stretched to about 400 quid.

Have my eye on a philips DVDR3460H.
    Looks good.

    Thanks,
    spanner

Does the Magnavox have the feature which the Targa does not, which spannerhead spoke of in the first post on this thread, regarding watching and recording at the same time.

Sounds like a serious problem to have with a HDD recorder as I intend to record programmes to the memory while I'm out and then re-record them to disc later, making sure to delete out the commercials. If I can't watch while recording on the Targa I assume I will not be able to do as stated.

The magnavox doesn't have that feature. Checkout the Pioneer 540h which is about 450 in richersounds.ie. there is no finer dvd recorder available imho. There has been a thread on it last week.
