    Hi

have just restarted my media centre after a big ext to the house.

it was wireless before but now a working cat5 connection is there.

but I cannot get connected to the net ??

what settings etc should I be checking??
I have uninstalled the wireless software.

When I go to contol panel - net conections - theres nothing there ??
How do I add something in here - Lan connection.
under "add connection" -what options do I go with

    thx

There will be nothing in that box unless you are using dial up internet. I assume you have broadband?

is your ethernet card installed properly? control panel>system>hardware>device manager>network adapters. if it is not installed correctly you might need to install drivers for it.

have you ever used a wired LAN connection before on this PC?

Do the LED's at the network socket light to show connection is working?
