As it says i'm looking for a cheapish multiregion player, doesn't need to be anything fancy just so long as it will play region 1 dvds!

    Thanks

If you have an existing DVD player there are a couple of sites out there that you can get the codes to make your DVD player Region Free.

I used this one recently to make my DVD player Region free.

The codes are submitted by regular punters so there is no Guarantee they'll work, but it's worth a bash, particularly if you have a DVD player already.

Yeah i've looked at doing that before but i really don't wanna try it and screw up my machine. Especially seeing as its my parents!!

ive done this for all 5 dvd players in my house and a few of my m8s and never had a problem what is the make and model of the player, then u can have the code (or solution) and its upto urself to use it

I always buy the cheapest of the cheap in Power City and they've always been region-free.

For friends I have used the 'unlocking' codes successfully many times.

A rough rule of thumb I have found is the more expensive the player the harder it is to unlock.

The code will either work or it won't - it won't screw up the machine.

This one is region free @ 59 eurons, a great deal of DVD players these days either come with a firmware upgrade or can be unlocked with a code.

Looked into the unlocking but a few sites said mine(JVC XV-N212) is unlockable by code and would need a firmware update. I think i'll go for that one in Peats, thanks Ruu!!
