Had a bit of time to kill today so I rambled down to the seafront in Clontarf.

    C&C welcome

Yeah it was a really small area of sun in an otherwise overcast day! :)

    Lovely shot.

There's just a little too much cloud at the top for my liking. You definitely need some, but I think that much distracts from the water and the mountains

I really like them, especially the second. Nice framing.

I think the first one would benefit from loosing some of the clouds at the top. Its just grey. And maybe something to bring up or down the shadows a bit.

IMO the second one suffers from not having the frame sharp. Possibly you would have needed to shoot 2 images, one with the frame and one with the subject sharp then merge them. As it is I find it very distracting.

Thanks for the advice. I left the clouds in as I thought it tied in well with the industrial scene. I wanted the have the contrast between the industry and the beautiful colours of the sunset. The second I shot at f2.8 to exaggerate the frame. Points taken on both though, thanks

I liked the second shot far more ,the border of the opening along with the lines of the water made the shot very clear.

I was trying to go down that way a few times and call the place little america ,because of all the oil storage . Could never get it together though.

    Happy christmas mate ,
    Take care.

Thanks Brian you too. That 10-20 and your finger should make some nice shots down there! :)

The 10-20 is a great lens ,but it's a constant enemy of dynamic range .
Dynamic range is something I don't have much time for ,light is not something I've acquainted with fully at the moment.

Anyways ,I'm locked and docked at this computer with no reference to the outside world ,only my drunken stuper !!!!!!!!!!!

    Happy christmas :D
