Well I know with jackets that you get a protective spray to prevent water and stains, I guess that won't help you now. :) You could try one of those cleaning blocks.

A bit late but thanks :) It is actually the shoes for my wedding dress, I have shoes but an old pair I love look better - may go to a shoe repair shop and see if they can do anything. Happy Christmas to you and your wife by the way :)

The cleaning block is like some sort of a pencil eraser type thingy I think, shoe repair shop should be able to sort something in any case. Best wishes to you and Shane also, enjoy your first Christmas together. :)

Yeah, I have black suede-type Vans and they're a bit dirty. Haven't a clue how to clean them. I suppose any shoe shop will have a special cleaning product for it...

Hold them over a steaming kettle, and wash gently with an old toothbrush and warm water. If that doesn't work, they are beyond cleaning and no amount of fancy products will make any difference.

You can buy cleaner for suede shoes in places like Clarks I think. It works really well, I had a pair of pale pink suede shoes which were destroyed and it completely cleaned them. It's like a shampoo that you just brush into them. You can then use the protective spray after that.
