Your favouritest photo of 2006?

What's your favourite photo that you took in 2006? Not the one everyone heaped alocades on. Which one that you took do you love the most?

For myself, I had any number of absolutely wonderful shots of Mariah, of Caira. Any number of elaborately prepared for and processed photos of forests, mountans, lakes, deserts and cats, but the one I love the most was pretty much snapped on the fly:

    Great idea!

Nice shot above, defo gives a playful atmosphere! :D

(I know this thread ain't for C&C, but that's calling out for a square crop)

I have 3 in mind, but I'm just back from a trip to Paris, and had a new laptop waiting for me...and it won't read my CF cards...I might have a winner when I get that working...

I've resisted cropping this shot at all, but I obsess over perfecting Jade's eyes to an unhealthy degree. :[

Give it a go! Even just put your hands on your screen...a bit off the right, a bit less off the left...and her face is centre!

This one for me, really fun to work with and different than the usual nature theme pictures I have about.

I feel that a tighter crop might give this photo a posed feel, which I absolutely don't want.

not too sure of my fav of this year... but these couple would certainly be in the top ten...

And a few more, but I'll stop the shameless self-promotion for now. All that I've got left to say is "God bless that macro lens", it's given me a much needed new perspective.

Not my best I suppose but one of my favourites. I'd love to be able to fly like this.

Hard to pick one really but this one combines a bit of two of my hobbies so I will go with this one

    110231183_8a7bc90102.jpg

The bitch is owned by the young fella in the picture and she gave us all a great thrill (him especially) by willing 3 of her first 4 races, unfortunately she picked up a bad injury and has been on her holidays for a long time now.

I took nearly 10000 photographs this year so narrowing it down to just 1 is pushing it a little.

However, I went to the trouble of enlarging two photographs to 20x30 inches (thank you Photobox) and in the interest of putting my mouth where my money is, these were those two:

    305842713_16d45855c9.jpg

    231314076_f0153a522d.jpg

I did a square crop of that second one (and did fix the horizon while I was at it) but it's still not quite as arresting as the full 3:2 AR version. The poster prints are dead cool even if I do say so myself. I wish I owned a big house with lots of walls though.

Hard choice to make, and no doubt my favourite will be still buried in the endless ranks of unprocessed files somewhere on the hard drive.

I'll go for this because I'm tired and emotional right now. As flawed as it is and as destructive as it was I still look back with fondness on this time of my life.
    Pictures are about memories.......right?

But if I had to go for one real overall fave it would be this little lady here.

This shot took me two years to get. I tried to keep catching him lying down in his stable but couldnt get it. Eventually when he was on his holidays I caught him lying down, hes actually asleep here! :)

It's a difficult decision, especially with the standard of pictures already posted. As a new convert to digital, most of my photos are film and my scanner is pathetic, but of the digital snaps i've taken in the past week this is my favorite, although I think the depth of field could have been better.

as the others not my best shot but I love the mischiefess look he has on his fave. I was too busy taking the shot to notice and got battered with the ball in the next second.
