Same thing happened to me. Got to the middle of Act II and it kept freezing. Returned it to Harvey Norman the following day, where they checked the disk, seemed satisfied that it was faulty, and gave me a new one.

Bring it back and order it off the net.

On the offchance the disk is scratched, try popping it in the freezer for an hour or so. Sounds mad but it got a scratched audio CD working for me again.

My disk seems to do that quite a bit as well. I have heard other people complaining about faulty disks too

If you want to break the warranty, then yes, but not worth it.
If you don't want to break the warranty I would also suggest for you turn it off.

Hmm... Same game, but region free from play-asia and that's happened to me twice so far on my spanky new xbox. Haven't tried my other games yet though.

the game is brilliant but the AI in my opinan is quite bad especially the AI of your allies

Yeah, stop running in front of my suppressing fire! :D Full spectrum warrior had fairly good ai. Told them to sit down, shut up, and fire at the tangos. :)

    What difficulty?

    What difficulty?
    hardcore

    why?

    why?

Why do you think? Because the AI gets better (read; harder) on the more difficult settings. Wait for insane. No, it's not an AI revolution, but it's damn hard.

Oh and replace the stupid Ally AI with that of your friends. :)

    oh right

    just finished it on hardcore
im not a fella who restarts a game on another difficult setting but i might
too see what insane was like

i was expecting hardcore to be alot harder than it was but it was ok

Insane is well worth playing through, much more intense. All the more worthwhile if you are on Live and can play with a friend or host/join a co-op game.

I got a new 360 for christmas and earlier today it said it couldnt read the gears of war disc just after I killed the berserker and chose the path to go with the guy from alpha. It said clean the disc or something so I wiped any fingermarks of f the disc and turned off console, when I turned it on again it worked fine, got to next checkpoint and then I stopped playing. HAsnt happened before maybe it was genuinely a few minor finger marks.
