Strange 1/2 PLHE from Jackpot

    Hi,

Was semi-drunkenly ambling home the other night after a half decent night at the dogs and thought i'd find a game for a couple of hours. Went into the Jackpot where I hadn't been before and sat down at a 9 seater 1/2 PLHE table (Usually just play online, and usually 0.25/0.50 at that).

From observation it seems there are a massive amount of limpers every hand, and some of the hands shown down for big pots have me absolutely astounded... Medium pairs on Ace high boards outkicking each other and the like!

I decide naturally to play fairly tight, and about an hour and a half or so in (I've only seen 3 flops at this point I think, KK on my first hand which took the pot with a half pot continuation bet post flop, and AT suited and offsuit from late position), I pick up pocket 9s on the button after about 3 limpers. This is my best recollection...

I've about 140 in chips and I raise to 10.
    Small blind folds
Big blind (whos got about 250-300 in chips and sees a fair few pots) calls my 10 and it gets another caller who's two seats to my right with about 150 in chips and never fails to see a flop it seems.

Flop comes down 853 rainbow much to my delight. Its checked around to me and I put in a bet of 25.
    BB raises to 50.
    Other chap folds.
    I call (comments?).

The turn is coming down a jack but before its even turned BB has 75 quid rolling into the pot. I can't figure this one out. I've 76 left so i'm effectively all in if calling. I don't see the jack as helping him because as I said his money was on the way in before he saw it. I assume its a desperate bluff to put me off the pot and I somewhat fearfully call. Comments?

In dublin there's some odd players who think if you raise you have ako, if you bet out on a flop like this they like to min raise you as a bluff thinking you'll lay it down. Also if he bets on the turn like that it's a bluff/semibluff alot of the time.

he could have a8/88/55/33/67 or nothing. anyway, it's 76 into a 200ish pot. I'd probably call and have the wallet out to reload.

I agree...definitely call but be prepare to reload...some Jackpot HE players fall in love with TP TK on the flop..its very easy money on a FRiday and Saturday and funnilly enough Thursdays too lately

Cheers for the replies lads, ye'r certainly right about it being a call as he turned over a 5 and looked at me waiting for my cards. I actually thought he was deliberatly stalling showing a set and was about to give him a bollocking when he turned over the other card which was a queen! The 9s held up and I took down a nice little pot by my own standards!

Push the flop, if you know more about the BB you may be able to fold.
