Macbook and Dell Monitor Question

    Hey all,

Ok, so I'm thinking of buying either a 20' iMac or a macbook.

If I go for the macbook, it has a 13.3' screen which TBH ain't the georgy best for watchin DVD's/viewing photos and the like. Now, my brother has a 19' flat panel Dell monitor he uses with his desktop. What I would like to know is:

    - are there any issues with connecting a macbook to 19' Dell Ultra Sharp flat panel monitor?

    - do I need to order any extra cables when buying my macbook?

    Thanks in advance,

    Stooge

Order the €19 miniDVI-to-VGA or miniDVI-to-DVI cable with the laptop (depending on which port's free on the monitor); pick up a cheapo VGA/DVI cable, and you're set.
Only thing you gotta ask yourself now is if you prefer working in Extended Desktop or Mirrored mode :D

I picked up the Dell 2407WFP 24-inch Widescreen this week and have to say its stunning. There's 25% off at the moment but its still far from cheap. I'm using it with a 1.67MHz Powerbook with the Dell supplied DVI cable.

Setup was a doddle screw in the DVI cable, plug in the power cord & you're done. The extended screen mode works a charm, great for watching DVD's on one screen & web browsing on the other - extravagent waste of money? nah, worth every penny

The setup is hooked into the Logitech Z-5500 speaker system - my own private home cinema. My credit card company loves me.

thanks for the replies guys, sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

As my uncle is going to the states soon, I'm going to get him to bring back a macbook 2ghz C2D, 1GB RAM. I'll proba get the dvi cable off e-bay or the like and use my bros 19 inch ultrasharp (mirrored mode K.O.Kiki ;) )
