    Did you actually see it by your naked eyes, only through the viewfinder or just on the photo?

    If first it is a reflection of moon in high altitude ice clouds, I guess. Some sort of halo ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_%28optical_phenomenon%29 ).

    Probably light bouncing around the lens or something equally odd. My glasses frequently mess with what I see through the viewfinder.

    Not a halo then. Halo must be seen much better by naked eye than through camera I think.

    Probably reflection off the sensor onto the lens, then back onto the sensor again.

    It's been known to happen with Digital cameras
