u:mack. No contest. At Bardo Pond/Alexander Tucker I told him he deserves a medal for what he's done for gigs here and I mean that. He also put on Sunn O))), Dinosaur Jr, Propaghandi, Acid Mothers Temple, LFO, Baroness/Torche, Vetiver, Plaid, Autechre, High on Fire and Deerhoof. If that isn't worth winning an internet poll over, nothing is. u:mack, I salute you!

Have to agree with you there, u:mack is who i voted for too. Every act I saw was impressive and everyone I missed I heard great things of! If u:mack weren't here I doubt any of those acts would come to these shores, every gig quality! I cant wait to see what's comin in 2007

u:mack, totally. he put on a ferocious amount of good bands this year. and he's the only one on that list who's put on my band.

Who's your band? Edit: nevermind, just clicked the link in your sig. Serpents. Cool band.

Foggy had Bonny Prince Billy as well but anyone who brings over Final Fantasy twice gets my vote. Russian Futurists and Camera Obscura were good catchs as well.

Im only pointing out an omission from the Aiken list: Metallica. To get Alice in Chains, Metallica and Stone Sour in the one venue on the same day...impressive work

Choice Cuts for me. I was only talking to a mate about this last night.. The quality of the Hip-Hop/Funk/Soul gigs that they put on are immense. Some examples being Edan; Nicole Willis and the Soul Investigators; Quantic Soul Orchestra...

The list goes on and on.

u:mack gets my vote on this poll (thank you for Red Sparrowes in particular), but what about some love for Dublin Metal Events? I've been to more of their gigs than anoyone elses this year and looking at their lineup for next year, it'll be more of the same :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

Yeah, Dublin Metal Events would get it for me.

    u:mack for Red Sparrowes.

In 2007, I can already say POD for 65daysofstatic alone.

Toxic Promotions are also rather good, but I'd have to say Aiken out of the above selection

I go with Aiken, for Depeche Mode, The Flaming Lips and Metallica. Dublin Metal Events and u:mack also had great lineups. And thanks to the unknown promoter who brought over Buzzcocks as that was one of my favourite gigs of the year.

i was thinking that myself, but in fairness aiken got all those bands to come over for a day from their usual festival schedule in the UK, so it's not all that impressive, so my vote goes to u:mack and a special mention to dominion for being new and getting VNV Nation over :)

    Did they?

Not quite but they did have a big part to play.

The Ministry of Agröculture (formerly known as the Department of Agröculture) with Dominion promotions brought them over. 2007 looks to be a good year for them keep your eyes open.

My vote would go to Toxic Promotions if they were in the list.

I didn't know VNV Nation were still around, let alone gigging.

Dublin Metal Events (formerly Emerald Promotions) definitely get my vote, been doing great work for a number of years, but the stuff they've done these past two/three years has been simply outstanding............2007 already shaping up to be an excellent year..........

    please add to your poll....
