Disable Channel Changing while Recording

    Hi guys,

I have a MCE box connected to Sky. The problem I have is that when I am recording someone in the house fecking changes the channel

Is there any way to disable the remote / channel changing while recording? I know MCE alerts you but it’s just that, an alert. They dont have physical access to the box the only interface they have is the remote.

I aint getting another sky subscription or unplugging the receiver!

    Any experience / ideas?

    TIA

Are they changing channel using the Sky remote, thus over-riding the MCE blaster? If so, couldn't you block off access to the infrared receiver on the Sky Box using something like a piece of cardboard, but, leave the IR blaster inside the blocked off area? It would, however, mean that you could only change channels using the MCE remote. The only alternative solution is to hide the Sky remote..

If they're changing channels using the MCE remote, over-riding your recording, then no, I don't think so. You need to fix the people, not the process!
