Anyone know what the defacto entitlements are for Christmas/new year holidays this year for private companies. I'm all confused with some of the public dates falling over the weekend.

Well you're entitled to Christmas Day and Stephen's Day off. That's Monday and Tuesday next week. You're also entitled to the 1st off. And that's a Monday too...

    So, easy peasy this year.

My confusion was that we were not getting Xmas Eve off. But of course, Xmas EVE is not a bank holiday.

    Damn these private companies!

    Thanks seamus

One is entitled to be off OR have a day in lieu if working. An employee is not automatically entitled to have Christmas Day etc. off. ;)
