    Hey guys,
My computer has started randomly crashing recently, and i knew right away it was a GFX problem because the computer showed everything as normal (in terms of Temp readouts etc) but i lost the signal from the GFX card. I took it out of the box and gave it a walk outside, it was extremely hot. After plugging it back in i realised after boot the cooling fan is not working on it. It seems to only crash while playing games, so would it be safe to use for general computing?
I got it off Komplett about 1 1/2 years ago, prob out of warrenty. It's a Radeon 9800 pro. What do you think i should do?

Could you jury rig another general perpose fan to the card to cool it, connected directly to the power supply

Probably not worth using it for general computing as it is as any old gfx card would give you that with no effects on the heat of the computer or risk of crashing or worse (flames and stuff :))

Also take a look on www.hitide.ie. Something like the original Arctic Cooling unit (if they still stock them) should fit most 9800 pro cards and will be cheaper to buy and ship than most of the gear on Komplett.

Great suggestions guys thanks. Gonna try and get a small fan off Komplett, computer is stable if i keep fans on full and don't play games :)
