Anyone done Paddys Day in New York? Is it worth it? Looking to go back some time this year and figured it was as good a time as any.

    Any experience welcomed :)

Was there in 2005 and definetly think theres not a better place in the world to be on Paddys Day had an absolute brilliant day ended up around 85th/87th st.- where the parade up 5th ave. ends. Will definetly go back there again for it. Bar called Thin Lizzys absolutely hopping as were all uptown.

In peoples experience does the price of flights fly up nearer Paddys Day? (more so than they would usually if you leave them a while).

Any other thoughts? Are the "tourist attractions" all uncomfortably busy too?

I was there in 2002 for it, and going again this year. Good craic alright, but the parade was a load of crud.
