Set .gif files as screensavers?

Does anyone know how to set .gif files as screensavers, if possible? It's something I've been wondering about for a while, and I would really like to know if there's a way of doing it.

I use Windows Xp if that helps.

There should be a screen saver called "My Pictures Screen Saver" in the screensaver dialog. You can activate it and add the gif you want to use under Properties

EDIT: Wait, that isn't working. It's not playing the gif, just displaying the starting frame.
