I noticed that the 5th trailer was out and it has a confirmed release date now
the trailer says march but i heard march 23rd

This game is looking up i ****ing love CNC games they are by far the greatest games i have ever played rivaled only by the knights of the old republic series

I don't like EA tho i have always believed that they can not make a good CNC game. They don't think like WW used to

Also i fear that EA are very likely to portray NOD as some sort of terrorist origination because of the current global situation regarding terrorists, They want to portray NOD as terrorists while Westwood always had it very vauge there was always some uncertainty you chose a side based on your own beliefs
I personly serve Kane i believe in him that he knows the means to make the world a better place.

The problem is with EA now in control i fear that they will not follow whatever the original WW plan was.

I wonder which will be more prominent in this game the Scrin or Cabal?

Its great there is another CNC game and its amazing that they got Joe Kucan to act in it, Also i love the way they have two actors from BSG aswell, which reminds me i should go watch BSG episode 11....

    yes Tricia.....good...good.

Looking to be quite teh good, if not for gameplay, storyline should be fun, loved the tiberium universe.

tbh, i dont have much faith in EA and i think that CnC style of strategy is a tad outdated.

Yeah it looks brilliant kind of makes me wish id waited for it rather than spending my money on Supreme Commander, oh well. There are loads of actors in it. Sawyer from Lost, BSG actors and did i see Lando Calrissian there too... cool.

Check out Gamershell's free downloads here as well. They are getting pretty hammered at the moment but their Irish server is the quietest one at the mo :)

I'm using bittorrent at the moment to get it. Anybody played it yet? Seeing as I was wholly unimpressed with Supreme Commander, I'm dying to know if this will placate my voracious appetite. Company of Heroes is still king in my eyes.

Love the way its gone back to the "old" style, of not needing those f**king bulldozer things to build stuff. Man, the game is so sweet, I WILL be buying it when it comes out. And for me, that is something big;)

Im a bit dissapointed in it going back to the old style in some ways, I preffered having a nice spacious base, and moving off to make a secondary base closer to the enemy for blitzkreig attacks..

Loathed the space restrictions in the old CnC's..

    I love it!

10 hours of torrenting paid off when I woke up to find it finished!

Played thru the demo missions and well chuffed thus far. Wish it looked as pretty as in that screenshot above tho :(

Plays grand tho, might try cranking up the res later.

downloading now. hope they release a xbox360 demo as well.
then it'll probably be a toss up between buying it for the laptop with crappy radeon9600 graphis but pc controls Vs xbox360 savage graphics but controller controls.
hmm......will have to wait and see

Tell you what Scruff, it plays better on my desktop with a 9600XT than a laptop with an x700mobility at the same screen res.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,225 ✭✭✭Scruff

interesting, though should have been clearer and said 9600mobility. laptop spec is 3.2ghz p4, 1g ddr ram, 128mb 9600mobility.

didnt manage to download it yet, gamershell dl crapped out and it doesnt support resumes so it started from scratch all over again
Any other free download sites that will support resumes?

Ah a huge long time C&C fan i was pretty disappointed with this demo, i loved the cut scenes but overall the game seemed too "arcade'y" and fast, i mean you can unlock the whole tech tree in less than 10 mins! And the fact that they give you a superweapon and high tier units in the first and second levels is a bit retarded.

well the reason you unlock the tech tree so quick is because..... duh its a demo and they want you to know what is in store for you when you buy it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,317 ✭✭✭CombatCow

I was actually talkin about the speed at which you unlock it, but also i think it's kinda lame that they actually give you all the units because it leaves no new stuff to unlock in the full version....

Anyone know a way to get it to install to a directory of your choosing?

Advanced Install I do believe is the option to pick.

I thoroughly enjoyed the demo. I haven't played a C&C game since the original, but everything felt right about this. Forgot how much fun Orca's are :) The graphics are very nice, I like the bloom effect they have going on. The sound effects and unit animations are good, and I particularly like the path-finding.

All that said, I encountered a relatively big bug. Has anyone else been a victim of friendly fire? My Grenadier teams decide to kill eachother every so often, and my Troopers were trying to shoot down my Firehawks (which are pretty cool units! :D). It seems like a fairly big issue when the game is released on the 30th of this month, it must be going gold very soon, if it already hasn't.

I'm not 100% sold on the purchasable units on the tab on the left-hand side of the screen. They don't appear to be of great value and I found that they cluttered the screen.

    lol

torrent finally completed yesterday evening and only managed to have a gander at it for 15 mins. Ran on the latop at recommended low defaults on most settings at 1024x768 and still looked quite nice, looked even nicer when connected up to my 32" lcd t.v. at same resolution.
