I'm looking forward to it, I did a 5 mile over the summer in the Phoenix park but found the uphills tough as I was used to running on the flat. I've trained lots on uphills since then! :p
    Anyone here doing it?

    :)

I'll take that as a no anyway!! :D

Went well, did it in about 53 minutes.
Tough enough though, i'd forgotten quite how many hills there are on the course!

There's a 5 mile in january etc, gonna up the ante of the training. I love running!!! :D

    Fair play Backtoblack :)

It took me 1hr 19min - I never ran a race in my life. Great craic tho - and a great atmosphere, definitely giving it a proper go next year!!

I got around the course in just under 40 mins. Those hills (out of Furry Glen, up from Chapelizod Gate, up from IslandBridge Gate) really take it out of you. I messed up my knee somehow. It's on ice at the moment.
It was so much nicer than the Port Tunnel 10k because the crowd spread out quite quickly.

Some of the km markers were certainly not correctly positioned. Some seemed very far apart while others, obviously compensating, were close together.

Glad the race went well for everyone.

Just to touch on something the OP mentioned. Is it possible to get a list of all the races that take place throughout the year.

Or if anyone has some websites Ill go through them and compile a list

January 1st has the Tom Brennan Memorial 5k.
AFAIK the Rahney 5mile is on January 28th.
On March 17 is the MSBAC 4mile race in the Phoenix Park.
April 15 is BUPA 10k in the Phoenix Park.

April 29 2006 was the BHAA RTE 5mile race in Donnybrook. I'd assume that it will be on next year too.

Look at Athenry AC, BHAA.net and Irish Runner magazine.

Yep I was talking about the 5m on the 28th!

The course was a nearly all uphill! :D Godamn!!!
The run on the 28th is mostly on the flat which would be much easier.

There was a small lack of organisation with the availability of water I thought. Mind you, usually I don't drink when I'm running anyway and I would go almost the same distance but it was a tough course too.

    good fun though!

Does anyone know what the story is with the sponser ship cards? When they're due back? or where to send them? There are contact details on the card, I'll have to phone them I guess tomorrow.
