    Hi,

I have to buy someone a set of good-quality playing cards for Christmas. Can anyone recommend a good place in either Cork (my home city) or Dublin (my adopted city) where one could purchase these, as I haven't got a clue. Cheers.

Best place is Special Days in Liffey Valley. www.specialdays.ie

    Good luck.

Many thanks for the suggestion, BigDragon, but I should have been more specific in the opening post. I really wouldn't be able to go beyond the city centre as far as Dublin is concerned. Anywhere in Cork would be fine though.

The Fitz have a little display cabinet in the lobby and I know they sell books e.t.c. they may sell cards also, its worth a phone call at least. Hope this helps.

That special days shop has been gone a long long time. the fitz sell a few things alright, not sure of the quality though it probably ok. I would buy them online if I were you.

Lwr Fitzwilliam St, opposite the ESB office I think. On a street connecting Merrion SQ and Fitzwilliam Sq.

The branded cards they sell in the reception area are terrible though.

Thanks a mil, lafortezza. Any more suggestions would be welcome as I think it's probably a bit late to order online - postal traffic jams and all that. Cheers.
