do you know if they got the scart cable also?

Will these be any use at all to stander-definition TV's? or are they for HD only?

Think all the connectors I've got are Scart, the three red/white/yellow yokes and maybe S-Video (the last two maybe just with a scart converter - depends what telly I'm playing on).

No SD tele's dont have component, so no use to them.

RGB Scart is the best option for Wii with CRT SD tele, but I didnt enquire as to whether they had those as all my TV's are LCD & HD

Can confirm the Gamestop in Bray just got them in today. They are MadKatz third party leads rather than official nintendo ones. (If there is even any difference at all in PQ I'd say probably only the most anal would notice. They actually look better made than the official ones tbh, ie. better connectors and thicker gauge cable)

I was despairing that it would be January till I could get one so when I went in and checked on the off chance and he told me they had just got some in, I kinda embarressed myself, "Go on ya good think, woohoo" etc. Bloke behind the counter must have thought I was mental.

Can I just point out that I was not so much excited about going from composite to component for PQ per se. Its just that I have a PS2/->PS3(March),360,XBMC,HDD/DVD all waiting to make the move with their component cables at the ready to component. Was just waiting for WII to join the component club, so that I can now move everything to component and integrate my new Joytech component, ethernet, optical switcher into my system and then I can program my Harmony remote to control everything and put away the other 6 remotes.

Thats why I was despairing about waiting for wii component till January and why I was so thrilled that I embarressed myself after finding one today. :D:D

    HELL NO.

Component on HDTV runs upto composite and pisses and ****s all over it.

component is 480p progressive 480 lines
composite is 576i pal 480i ntsc interlaced which is 288 lines and 240 lines

Component offer 2x the amount of onscreen information, and improves picture quality.

Added that each colour is seperated improves colour saturation etc..

An LCD TV looks way way better with component.

PQ is vastly superior with component over composite.

Picked up the MadCatz €32.99 ones. They make a noticeable difference in picture. Of course it doesnt help resolution or jaggies, but the difference in colour , contrast & brightness and crispness are easy to see.

You can actually make out textures which previously looked completely flat.

sweet. Time to boot up Zelda :D

I agree... difference (particularly in Zelda) is very noticeable.

Was this aimed at me? I was referring to PQ differences between the Official Nintendo component cable and the third party MadKatz component cable...and if there was a difference It would probably be negligable and only the most anal perfectionists would notice. Like the kind of person that points out things like a thing/think typo! :D

Significant difference between Composite and Component. Everything got sharper and clearer with more distinct textures etc. Composite flicker edge artifacts banished etc. Really noticed those on the projector.

    On a side-note...Wii Sports Bowling down a life size lane on a 90inch screen.....Sublime!! :D
