a follow up to this thread. please noone post stuff mocking the macau or anything bad, i dont want to get this thread locked, im just looking for advice on what to do now

after what happened and their refusal to let me play in the tournament, i asked the guy who was working on the door should i leave the ticket here and get a refund or should i try and sell the ticket. he told me to leave the ticket with him and i will get a refund, i went back 3 nights in the following week and they kept saying they didnt know what was going on, i rang them last night and they said that there is no refund and i dont get the money

i'm really tempted to get legal representation but i think it might end up being more money spent than gained, i think this is very bad form because even online you would always get a refund.
im just wondering what people think about this.
should i get a lawyer? has it ever happened to you? any ideas on what to do now?

Take them to the small claims court - you don't need a lawyer for that.

umm, maybe you shouldn't keep that as your sig.

My lawyer advises me not to go to lawyers.

If you happen to know a lawyer who would write a letter it may be enough. If not, I would write them a letter stating my case and stating that I will be taking further action if they don't refund me.

You might want to arrange a sit down with Ken and explain the situation. I've never found the Macau owners to be unreasonable so it seems like something is off here.

I do think the Macau owes you the entry fee back if what you have said is the whole story (sorry, I dont think I know you so I have to keep an open mind as to the facts).

being honest ive always considered them very reasonable too, thats why i was confused when they said i dont get a refund, fair enough about the not knowing me stuff.
and as for the sit down with ken, he doesnt seem to be available to come to the door anytime im there

Thats what you get for playing cards with Culchies.

Seriously though, you've only 1 recourse if what you say is true. Get the small claims court involved, it may be only 300 quid but justice should be served..... maybe we'll see you on Jude Judy like so we will.

when ken bars someone, he'll never come to the door to talk to them, he can't handle any confrontation. That's what got you into the bad books in the first place, disagreeing with Ken or being seen as telling him how to do something.

the obvious solution is to toss a coin for your reg fee

Get Dr Phil in...........your due a refund in my opinion, the club can bar you if they want but to not refund someone their cash is bad form imo

I would write them a letter stating my case and stating that I will be taking further action if they don't refund me.

I think this is the best move now. Keep a copy of the letter, make sure it completely outlines the events as they occured and explains why you think you are entitled to the cash refund then just say at the end that you will be investigating how to take this further if you don't get any reply.

Hard call , taught u would get a refund , ill say it for u as it will put an end to it on all parts ..... Im sure they would not want hassle for €300 -

The only thing i can see is that when he stopped u from playing your enrty fee probably went into the pot , i know that aint your prob
