    Hi
I see some amazing photos on flickr and have a photo stream there myself,
whats stopping people taking these photos for themselves and submitting them
in photo competitions for example ?

    digital watermarks ?

    I haven't DW any of my pics , maybe I should ..

Others who use these online galleries such as flickr, do you digitally
watermark your pics ? and is this an affective way of establishing copyright ?

Once you have taken the picture you have the copyright. I only allow people marked as friends to see the large sizes. If someone robs them well there is little I can do and it wont effect me because I am not selling them anyway.

That said, if I caught anyone doing it......................, lets put it this way, I have met some interesting charachters in my time.

I add copyright info when I transfer my images from RAW to JPEG. It can either be done in Lightroom or in Bridge. I went through a phase of adding copyright on the pic but that is a waste of space really.
