so did anyone see the comedy awards last night?

it was shorter then usual which was okay but then half the wards were handed out on itv2 :/

the first prize was for best male comedy actor and the noms were

    mitchell and webb (together)
    ricky gervais
    stephen merchant (seperately)?

stephen won which was okay I guess it good to see him in extras now as opposed to just writing in the office...and then when he went up to collect the award, they cut live to gervais in new york so he could give his opinion before merchant could even say anything.

but it was good that harry hill won two for tv burp, and the peep show aswell

I dunno there wasnt much new this year, russell brand and the star stories were the newest winners,I can't remember what else uniquely good and new in 2006 and it seems most of those boards can't remember either looking at the board tv awards

but why so few noms, it be nice to give mention to other good things for this year? maybe green wing?

there were only 4 public vote nows rather then 6, and the voting was started by some mens mag so mitchel and webb was winning but then the great british itv watching public got involved and you guessed it ant and dec won with 50+% :/

did anyone see the royal variety performance, jason byrne didnt go down very well, I've never been a big fan of his but i watched his gig on paramount the other day, and the RVP version of the scale joke looked a bit rushed and he just shouted his way to the end.

No mention of Oliver Stone? He really let himself down.

    Was he there?

I thought some of the clips they showed were pretty crap. From Mitchel and Web they showed part of the Number-Wang skit, but instead of showing anything that might be funny, they should a tiny snippet where you couldn't tell what was happening. (But for Johnathon Ross, they didn't cut it short!).

I'm probably reading that wrong, but was Harry Hill involved with Peep Show.
