    Hi Guys,

I am looking at getting a camera sometime next year, the camera I have in mind is a Nikon D50.

I have read a few reviews about it and they all seem fairly positive.

Just wondering if anybody here has any experiance with them that they would like to share?

I am thinking I will be paying from €500 - €700, does this seem right?

    Regards,

    Joker

    I have one.
I have nothing bad to say about it!
Its light, battery lasts ages, feels sturdy and the controls are well placed.
That price is okay should be about 500 for just the camera body, maybe 600 with the 18-55mm kit lens.
I bought the camera body and the 18-70mm & 55-200mm. The 55-200mm isnt great, I hardly ever use it. The 18-70mm on the other hand is a nice lens and i suggest you try and get it rather than the 18-55mm.

The D50 has everything you need to get into photography features wise.

D50 is a fine camera. If you're willing to pay as much as 700 then go for the D70, everything the D50 is and more. You can get the D70 body for 650ish online. Thats just for the body though.

After looking through a few websites such as pixelmania it seems the D50 is no longer available.

Has anybody else heard about its withdrawal from the market or is this limited to pixelmania.

These places seem to be trying to encourage people to go with the D70 or the newer D40.

    Any ideas?

I have no camera experiance at all, I do plan however on taking it up, would the features in the D70 be that useful for the extra price I would have to pay?
