Force permanent drive letter on ext. hdd

I've 3 ext. hdds that I disconnect/reconnected regularly. One is used for scheduled backups. This drive needs to always have the same drive letter as the backup looks for this. The problem is that Windows automatically gives a device the next available letter to the newest device which isn't always the letter the backup needs. Can I give this particular hdd a drive letter permanently?
