What does passing the driving test in a car entitle you to in the area of motorcycles? Can you get category M added, or how about category A1. I am looking to buy a moped, and have a full car licence. Cheers

You get cat M and W thrown in for free with a Full B Licence.

    M means <50cc and <50kmph I believe.

I believe theory tests are only valid for 2 years (could be wrong though). When did you last sit a theory test?

Yes, for the first 2 years (would apply even if you were 58 years old...)

No. I'm insured with Royal & Sun Alliance via a broker called Carole Nash. AON (also a broker) also insures bikers but they refused to insure me so I don't like them. :p

    thank you for your replys.
tomorow im getting my licence renewed type A.
so i have a provisional licence type A1 witch i let expire but i have 5 years to renewed with out doing the theory test. to move to a type A with out having to do a theory test you had to have done your theory test in past 3 years so you just upgrade your licence to type A. but you can only drive up to 300 cc. or 25kw

    my new question is:

how do i restrict a bike?

i rang today for a quote on a bandid 600 restricted and they wont quote me unless is factory restricted. please help

AON did the same to me... So I rang Carole Nash and they insured me... I've been happy with my Bandit ever since! :)
