I'm loving my Wii!! TBH even if I played it before the launch I would have probably been worse waaiting for it!! I have to play more games on it but so far so good!!

Hi I played it at TFBB at the RDS and was impressed, but actually having it at hom is the biz, it loads like a lasher as well you can fit a game of tennis in during an ad break! and wii mail looks ok too - need a little white keyboard though it would (will) be cool.

I never thought how convenaint it would be to turn it on from the couch its pure class and the purple light for email notification - practical as ever!

I love mine. Zelda really is a phenomenal game despite the controls being tacked on. Also having a lot of fun with Wii Sports. Went to my mates during the weekend to play some Gears of War and brought the Wii to show it off. We ended up playing more tennis and bowling than GoW. Stupidly good fun.

I'm a little disappointed in Wii Play. Table Tennis and laser hockey are great but the other games aren't great with some just being plain crap. Still it's only a tenner really since you get a Wiimote free.

Yeah, without a seconds hesitation! Love Zelda and Wii Sports, and like Retr0gamer said, Wii Play has a couple of decent games and some ****e ones, but its good for getting someone used to using the wiimote and how to use it. :)

Yea, loving it. Zelda is, obviously enough, totally fantastic, Wii Sports and Ray-Man are both great (finally got a couple extra Wiimotes today, so looking forward to getting some proper multiplayer games at the weekend) and there's still a few other games I wouldn't mind getting.

    Fun++

Would a 26 inch hd tv widescreen be suffice to play on? with mulitplayer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,326 ✭✭✭Zapp Brannigan

    Of course ^
I play it on a 21 inch old old tv.

The Wii rocks, I agree with retr0, apart from table tennis and hockey Wii play kinda sucks. Wanna get Rayman, cos I hear it's a great laugh.

Yea, if anything it would be overkill. Wii doesn't do HD, so it might look a bit pixilated.

I wasn't going to buy a Wii until I played it at the RDS Toys For Boys Show and was completely blown away.

Getting it home and playing it at home is even more fun.

I absolutely LOVE my Wii! Zelda, as most people agree, is terrific. Also Rayman is a lot of fun, especially the dancing minigames. I've laughed out loud so many times playing that game, even when alone. I wasn't terribly impressed with Super Monkey Ball - that'll probably get traded in when Trauma Center gets released. Wii Sports is something I keep coming back to, mainly to try and get my fitness age a bit lower than the current depressing 41. Wii Play isn't great, imo, but it'll entertain you for a few hours and give you an extra wiimote, which is nice. The Mii Channel is great fun. I'm competing with my friends in Scotland to see who can create the best Miis. Seriously, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Wii - it's well worth it.

without a doubt yes. It's better now than I thought it was going to be. I bring some of the lads from work around every lunchtime to play tennis. Often do be falling around the place laughing. It's great. This is my first time playing a Zelda game (tried getting into previous versions but didn't much like them) and it is amazingly good. Only thing is that you will need a few hours straight to play cause you won't want to leave it with any less than that! Everyone should have one of these!

The wii has started me gaming again. TBH I knew I would like it. And Zelda has me completely hooked.

It is the snes all over again.

I luv the interface and the music on it. I will get many hours out of it. I am happy i spent the money on it and look forward to getting more games at Christmas: a shooters and then some monkeyball, traumacentre, excitingtrucking in the new year!!?!??!

Oh yeah definitely get one! Its brilliant and everyone (so far) who has tried mine loves it!

    That includes:
Dad (50+ Loves the golf + scarily good)
The Sister (16, Great at Bowling, Loves Zelda)
The Girlfriend (21, Loves tennis + LOVES those Rabbids!).
Me (22, Loves Call of Duty leaning is cool, LOVES Bowling)

I included the ages just so you get the jist of how they all have very different tastes.

Got mine on Wednesday, only have the free Sports game but it's magic. At the start I was a little self-concious and tried playing tennis sitting down using only small flicks of the wrist to play the game while my girl-friend looked on disapprovingly but 4 games in and match point down, I was crouched down like Agassi, Wii-Wand poised to return the serve straight down the line. When you knock a man down in boxing, sway around the room like Apollo Creed and the guy on the screen will follow your hand movements. My real-life bowling has improved because I finally understand how to counter the natural spin I'm putting on the ball. Because you're interacting with your whole body it's incredibly engaging. One word of warning. Do not EVER create a Mii in the likeness of your girlfriend, especially if you like the boxing game, as she is likely to leave you if she walks in while you're mercilessly pounding her digital face in.

    Definately get one.

Playing Wii Sports gives you a sneak peak at what can be done with the Wii. ie, the golf game feels brilliant as it is. But imagine Tiger Woods for the Wii, really implementing all the elements etc. And I dont even like golf!

    Short answer yes..

Just got mine today and set it up in work for people to mess on. Just with the free game (Sports) it is excellent. A few people were going to buy and asking about pre-orders just from that.

My only complaint about the wii.. well its not a complaint more worry. I saw these websites with people were breaking windows, TV's, etc and all I could think how stupid are these people.

Then I watched some people play today. One guy doing the bowling actually did the run up towards the screen and missed it with the controller by centemeters.

You really need to watch out, even though you get loads of warnings in game.

Have to agree with previous posts, the Wii is well worth getting. I got mine on launch day and my whole family were playing it till 2am (as posted by someone else, my dad is also scarily good at the Golf) :) I bought Zelda the same day too but so far have only played about 1hr of it, but already it reminds me alot of Ocarina of Time which was a great game. I havent got to use it a whole lot lately, been pretty busy, but its going to be a great laugh over the Christmas having druken Golf and Bowling competitions with my uncles :D
Nothing else out for it at the moemnt that im interested in, looking forward to Mario Kart (whenever that will be) and Tiger Woods. I can also see a really good Tennis game coming out too which would be a 1st. It'll be very handy when the internet channel gets added too (which is apparently going to heppen before the new year) and the virtual console gets a new batch of games.

A most emphatic yes, worth the price tag anyday.

Even with just Wii-Sports you have a great set-up right there, whether it's against family members or doing the challenges associated with each sport (the 99 pin challenge in bowling is great fun) you can get lost in it for hours. Then tack on Zelda and you have (in my opinion) the game of the year and a sly purchase of Wii-Play to fill in the gaps with table tennis, cow racing, duck hunt or any of the other games.

    Worthy of your paycheque.
