Outlook Express - where are the messages stored?

Hi, my laptop recently died but I have salvaged the HDD and hooked it up to my desktop PC via an external casing connected to USB (acting as another HDD). Problem is that now need to recover the inbox and contacts that were part of the Express set up onthe Laptop. I am assuming this is possible But can someone walk me thru what i need to do?

I actually had two identities set up (wife and personal). Can I distinguish between these and copy them over easily?

Or is it possibe to simply launch the Express application on the old HDD and keep using it as per normal?

    many thanks, Darren

    I think the profiles should be under C:/Documents and Settings/Username/Local Settings/Application Data/Identities

They are stored in a group of files. The usual location in XP is:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{long alpha numeric number}\Microsoft\Outlook Express. All
of the files will have the .dbx file extension.

For the Address Book, the file is located in:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application
    Data\Microsoft\Address Book\Default.wab.

quertz is correct but the "Local Settings" folder is hidden so you'll have to select "View hidden files" in the Tools-->folder options menu.

Didn't think about that because I always have this option enabled :)
