Problem with a digital camera bought in the US

I have a small bit of a problem. I recently got my parents to purchase a Casio EXILIM Card EX-S770 (European version) Red digital camera in New York. They're only back since yesterday but unfortunately I am unable to charge my camera here for some reason. They were able to use if fine in the US.

The input of the adaptor is 100V-240V and the output is 5.3V - 650mA. I have a voltage converter that they sales rep in the shop gave them but it's still not working. When you sit the camera into the dock the light on the dock is meant to turn red and then green when it's fully charged. However, no light at all comes on. Although when I sit the camerta in the dock and press the play button then I'm able to flick through the pictures. It also seems that the camera is fully charged when I'm doing this. However when I pull the power from the adaptor then the camera immediately switches off. Basically I'm unable to turn on my camera without it being in the dock and also the charging light doesn't come on on the dock itself. Has anyone had any experience of this. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks

if it's 110-240v then you don't need any kind of voltage adapter, just a two to three pin adapter, have you another lithium battery to try?

It may be worth a try but is the power supply auto sensing or do you have to flick the old switch to say what voltage etc etc. Nowadays they should be auto sensing.
