This is an almost completely random post but for the fact that I remember seeing it for the first time only a couple of weeks ago (suprisingly - most people here have probably seen it many tmes), and Mathew Talyor's goal for Pompey at the weekend reminded me of it.

It's the first goal shown in this compilation made by Jonny2J (Newcastle fan who makes lots of brilliant footie compilations btw...).

This was back in his early Boca days by the looks of it. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it or more outrageous.

    Best goal ever tbh.

He's such a funny looking little man with the skin tight shorts pulled up to his chin.
    That is a rediculous goal!

You can't help but admire his footballing ability. I don't care what anyone says, Maradona was the best player ever.

Just watched it again, it really is incredibly sh!t goalkeeping, ok maybe he wasn't expecting a shot from the halfway line 2 seconds after kickoff, taylors goal was better imo.

Best Player ever in my opinion. Won a world cup on his own as well as the Italian league for Napoli. Take him out and those teams would win nothing.

Take Riquelme out of the Villarreal team and they wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful over the last few years. They still have quality players all round the team though. I think Maradona's teammates must be some of the most underrated. There's no way an average team would win a world cup or league title because they have one world class player.

Or even an average team winning a European Championship with no world class players.

Oh wait, hang on a sec, who was it that won the 2004 Euros??? hmmmmm....

I worded my post with Greece in mind. :)

The Argentina squad was full of domestic based players so they weren't household names. It wasn't until about the 90's that South American players moved to Europe. Here a couple of European based players from the squad:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Passarella

The Napoli league winning team were all international players from Italy, Brazil and Argentina including Ferrara, De Napoli, Alemao, Francini, Baroni, Careca.

Maradona didn't win anything single handedly. :) Fantastic player but I personally think Ronaldinho's just as good.

Exactly what I though when I saw it. Great goal though.

Slightly OT but what's the deal with people using appalling tunes in football compilations? I don't like the tune in this one but it's definitely at the better end of the scale which is saying something.

One man's Westlife is another man's Mozart I suppose.

He was a great player (even though I never really seen him play a full match) but Zinedine Zidane is the best player in the world ever IMO.

Don't think we'll ever see a playing as good as Maradonna again, he was a football genius.

It's hard to say who the best player in the world ever was, cause opinions are based on just guesses, but in terms of who the best player when I was alive was, Zidane, best player I've ever seen, deeply upset I never got to see him play in the flesh.

Hmmm Zidane yeah close but for all his strength and skills I don't think he was ever capable of dribbling past half an England World Cup team then rounding the keeper and scoring; Maradona was truly one of a kind, an inspirational captain and someone capable of scoring goals beyond the wildest imagination.

Amazing he couldn't get into the England team. He had a few too many goal of the season contenders against Newcastle for my liking but I suppose I should be thankful they always leave out the left footed volley and match winner he scored up at SJP in 1997 in his great goals selections.

Ah yeah, classic route one stuff from the Saints, and a typical Matty finish.

Van Gobbel with the 60 yard touchdown pass.

Hehe, another thread succesfully hijacked in the name of Le God...

Maradona was the best ever, IMO, but I at least agree that Zidane goes close, and Ronaldinho is every bit as good a player; he could catch him by the end of his career.
