ok heres the photo i took of Blackrock resident Dutch artist Peter, outside his favorite coffee shop -- enjoying a smoke and cuppa -- as stated previously i paniked a bit and had to shoot auto -- but it seams ok to me , what do others think ?

High contrast B&W with a burn in on the shiny patch might work well. Plenty of character as it is though :D

agree on the B&W, bit too hard to look at in colour.

I was thinking black and white with a fair amount of contrast might improve it too.

I had to take it quickly and there were people looking, so i paniced and shot using the auto, and flash popped up -- should have shot using P setting -- might put up a b&w version later - thanks.

That guy is mad! I see him everyday, he wanted to draw me once! great character shot, i agree about the b&w and maybe a tighter crop too.

I'm a bit of a disaster when it comes to shooting people, I'm just too shy, and I always seem to make a balls of it anyway!

I think its really good but agree b&w would finish it off better...he has a b&w type face :)

    i think it's a great shot!!!

there's a little overexposure on his forehead!! but like for a quixk snapshot it's great!! plenty of impact i don't know the guy.but maybe go back and ask could you shoot him again using a little less exposure if he likes painting he'll understand!!

I think thats the damn flash that fired on his forehead -- he is a bit moody if hes been on the sauce (to say the least ) so he might not be so agreeable again -- only cost me a cuppa :D

    I'll put up a b& w photo later .

ok , i have reduced the saturation , and converted to b& w , cropped a bit as well.
    P.S. i prefer the colour myself !
