    Hey,

I've heard from a variety of different sources different accounts of the rules for full contact kickboxing for under 18's in Ireland.

I'm mainly looking for stuff like:
    -Are low kicks allowed?
-Are you allowed to catch kicks?
-If you are allowed catch kicks what are you allowed do when you do catch them?
-What part of your legs are you allowed kick with? (Shins and feet like thai or just feet).
-Is there a weird ass minimum kick limited?
-What pads (if any) do you have to wear?

Thanks to all who reply. I've been here a lot of ambiguity about the actual rules.

AKAI are bringing in rules that FC starts at 14 years. What association are you with,

-Are low kicks allowed? - depends on tha association

-Are you allowed to catch kicks? Only in MT AFAIK

-If you are allowed catch kicks what are you allowed do when you do catch them? In MT you can kick while your holding the leg

-What part of your legs are you allowed kick with? (Shins and feet like thai or just feet). Shins/feet/insteps.

-Is there a weird ass minimum kick limited? IKF rules 8 kicks per round. Which is a good idea

-What pads (if any) do you have to wear: Proper full contact foot pads and gloves

I train thai and just wondering about over lap.

Do the leg pads cover shins or just feet?

    That mean it's optional?

Are there many AKAI events in Dublin?
