Why is traffic so bad on Monday's?

    Does anyone else notice that traffic is always the worst on Mondays, and on Friday's traffic is relativly light? Is there any particular reason for this?

    I would've thought MOndays is lighter than Tuesday.

    My own theory on this is that people go into work later as they are coming home from the country to Dublin and what not

    Kearnsr is probably right about Mondays. (assuming we're talking about Dublin traffic)

    In relation to Fridays, I think the evening traffic tends to be light in Dublin, because of the amount of people who take a half day. Lunchtime traffic on Fridays is worse than any other day.

    Yeah I was talking about Dublin and I would be thinking along the same lines for Fridays

    Yeah I'm referring to dublin and mainly traffic in the morning 7.30 - 8.30 - it alwys seems to be worst on Mondays.

    funny, it's always been my experience that it's lightest on Monday and heaviest on Friday.

    I find it light(er) on mondays.. heavy on Tuesdays... very light Friday morning and pretty heavy late afternoon, early evening.

    My experience:

    Monday light morning
    Tuesday medium morning
    Wednesday heavy
    Thursday medium morning
    Friday light morning

    Heavy all evenings, Friday being the worse circa 5pm.
