    Can anyone tell me where i can get a VGA to HDMI adaptor in Cork?

    No idea but I will mention such converters are not trivial items to come by so good luck.

    Some specialist sites sell them online but as you can see they fetch a very high price.

    It would be cheaper to replace the graphics card if you can.

    There is another way.

    Get a vga to dvi adapter, and then a dvi to hdmi adapter.

    You will also need a back to back DVI coupler to link the two male DVI ends.

    Net result - vga into hdmi port.
    Net quality - vga. IE you don't suddenly get wowzers HDMI graphics.

    Those VGA\DVI converters you linked to output DVI-A but HDMI requires DVI-D so wont work from my understanding of the situation unless you know better.

    The key words in my post were "like".

    You get a vga DVI adapter
    you get a dvi hdmi adapter.

    DVI I/A/D make no odds. You are still outputting signal across only the VGA pins regardless.

    You just need to buy the adapters that your equipment can accept.

    The other "flaw" in my post was that I linked to peats, who as far as I know do not operate in Cork. Maplin have a cork branch listed and they have tons of HDMI adapters listed on their website.

    I don't quite follow that last post, have you tested this method yourself and confirmed it working as I would be interested to know because everything I have seen elsewhere says that particular method will not work.

    DVI-A is analogue signal, DVI-D is digital HDMI only accepts DVI-D you will get nothing with DVI-A without using one of the converters I linked to above to convert the signal into digital (or so I have seen on places like the AVS-Forums).
