I have one of those keyboards that has the extra buttons on it to open things like media player, Internet Explorer etc. There is also buttons for play, pause, stop, mute etc. All these buttons work perfectly apart from the turnwheel to control volume which stopped working the other day. Now when I turn it, instead of it changing volume up and down it scrolls whatever window im looking at up and down.

Any ideas on how to fix it??

Most likely a changed setting in whatever software interprets the controls. Try looking at that.

I have a similar keyboard, no software installed, and just the standard windows keyboard driver, but most of the extra 20 keys just work. Going to the keyboard manufacturers website you might be able to download the keyboard software or driver that will let you setup the keys.

If you already have this installed looking under the keyboard settings in control panel might have some setting you can change, otherwise looking for any program with keyboard or "your keybaord manufacturer" in the name might give you the software you need

Like eolhc said first check under the keyboard settings in control panel might have some setting you can change.
If there is nothing there then have a look in the C: drive and see if there is a folder called "Drivers", if so then the needed driver for the keyboard should be in there.
If not then what you need to do, is to uninstall the keyboard within "Device Manager"

Right click My Computer, click on Properties, click on the Hardware tab & then Device Manager
Now click on Keyboards, right click on your make of keyboard & click Uninstall.
Leave Device Manager open, insert you XP disc, if you didn't get it with your PC then insert the recovery disc. Go back to Device Manager and on the toolbar click on Action & then Scan for hardware changes.

    That should do the trick.

(In case you ever need a driver for other hardware on your PC go here : http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/advent/pc/t9.htm)
