Dissapointed not to since this already posted.

Fionnula Britton took a great Silver medal in the first European Under 23 C\C today in Milan. Fionnula's really going to be a cracking runner particularly at Cross Country. She was very comfortable in Dungarvan two weeks ago. Funnily enough I speaking to Fionnula in August and she wasnt looking forward to it, because it was too flat and borring!!

Well done Fionnula...very nice girl and works hard at her athletics.

That was the best it got for ireland that was a dissapointment as I had high hopes for the Under 23 men's team. It appears some bug took effect on the Irish team. Martin fagan and Rossie Ryan didnt make the starting line due to sickness.

Mark Kenneally was first Irish man home, followed by Vinny Mulvey. Good runs from both Vinny and Mark, espically as Vinny was actually 7th irish man, and only got called up because Seamus Power cried off.

Brendan O'Neill had a good run to finish 12th in the Junior Men's race. Brendan is only 17 so he has another 2 years at that age bracket.

Mark Christie had a disater after easily winning the Inter-counties he was only 3rd scorer on the team. Joe Sweeney and Andrew Ledwith coming home ahead of Mark.

    Christie was ahead of Ledwith.

It was a great run by Britton. She's set for great things.

Fine runs also by Galligan, O'Neill and Sweeney, too.

    O'Neill has just turned 18 (1 Nov).

Well done Fionnula, well done to Joe Sweeney also, he had a brilliant race. Am proud to be in the same clubs as them.
