I was wondering is there anyway of relieving jet lag for a 9 hour flight and going through 6 time zones? I don't want to be extremely tired and I have bought pharmaton and is it necessary to drink loads of water and eat well? I had jetlag before and it lasted for a month and it made my life hell, just looking for advice. Any testimonials would be brillo ;)
    TY:)

    Where are you flying to/from?

I took melatonin the last time flying from Chicago to Dublin (I do this route fairly often) 6 1/2 hour flight and it worked well for me. I slept most of the flight when I normally have difficulty and woke up when we were landing in Dublin, very refreshed I was too. :)

Helps to try and start adjusting to the destination before you leave. If you're heading west (e.g. Irl to US) try going to bed a few hrs later than normal and get up later (if possible!) for the day or two before you travel. Opposite if traveling east.

Once you arrive, force yourself into the local time zone. Avoid going for naps, stay up until a "normal" bedtime.

I've heard good stories about drugs for resetting the body clock, some available over the counter in the US. No direct experience myself.

    Edit:
the airline websites & inflight magazines usually have good tips also

Jet lag that lasted a month??

    Holy !!

As has been said if you can start to adjust the week before.

I usually do this then drink a lot when I get there seems to clear it up in a day or two.

(Drinking can make it a lot worse for some)

Wow people take drugs to recover from a long flight? That seems pretty drastic to me. Just do what bbbbb said if you're that messed up.
