He probably changed the Scart output from RGB to S-Video which the TV can't handle. Can be changed from the picture settings in the menu.

You could possibly email Triax for a PDF of the instruction manual. I presume you mean a DVB1000S (though there are 2 variations of the same model!).

I agree but he lives quuite a bit away and I cant get him to get that partof the menu to set RGB!!

Thanks for help, I have told him to go back to installler, what he has got is totally unsuitable for his needs but he never asked me.

I'm not familiar with the Triax to say this could be the case, but the OP's friend might have accidentally changed to a different picture standard which his TV cannot handle in colour, not being multistandard (Ireland is PAL). I know the Lidl FTA Comag SL55 receivers can be set to 525 line NTSC (American etc standard) as well as 625-line PAL. Some Comags can also do the French SECAM system (Comag SL65).
If his picture is a bit vertically reduced as well as having no colour its a tell-tale sign he has accidentally selected NTSC instead of PAL.

Yes, that is indeed a possibility I hadn't thought of and worth looking into.

Both NTSC/PAL and the RGB/SVideo settings should be under the same menu.

Its most likely hes changed a setting on the tv in which case the installer may be none too happy about being called back.
