RTE will be introducing its long awaited Breakfast news Service on television in the third quarter of 2007. This is shown in its Guiding Principles document 2006. According to the doc, RTE have costed and approved this having already gone through a strategic planning process for the service. So we should expect some announcements mid-2007 about its launch.

In September it was due to launch in January 07... There have been so many times when this was proposed, it's never seen the light of day, let alone the dark of pre-dawn.

Personally I'd prefer if they didn't make it at all, and keep the funds for other home produced programming for during prime time.

I never got the point of it myself. No self-respecting working man or woman has time for it and any layabouts are still in bed! :D
