here we go again, kind of a heated topic around here... basically theres going to be a huge argument of nikon vs canon and then eventually both sides will concede that you'll have to go into a shop and try them both because they both have different shapes, sizes and feels.

and then you'll buy the nikon hehe

either one with the right lens and a bit of skill can create the best photo ever taken

most people use one or the other, very few use both those cameras extensively.

i've used canon for about 15 years and love it

Any of the magazine reviews have been going towards the D80.

Cheapest D80 in europe (that I can find). Can't recommend or otherwise because I have had no dealings, but I believe one of the guys over on photographyireland has. Im sure he does canon stuff too....

Oh...and go into a shop and play with them...they are both good cameras.

yip, both good cameras. Try both out.

If that doesn't work, have a look at Canon and Nikon other stuff, especially lenses and see if that is a clincher. If all else fails toss a coin.

Go into Gunns in town and give them a go there. You'll also be suprised at how good thier prices are, particularly on Nikon stuff.

Canon stuff is another matter, not really their fault for that...
