Quite cheap as far as ski resorts go. Very cheap electronics as well. The transfer can be a pain, up to 4 hours (fly to Bergamo, or Innsbruck, or some other place, but it's much more remote than a lot of other resorts).

Quite good fun though. Skiing is middle of the road - if you are really into being a hardcore skiier, I doubt if it will be particualrly challenging.

4 Hours?? I've been twice and the transfer from Bergamo was 6/6.5 hours.... no fun at all, especially on the way back when you're picked up @ 4-5am :(

Livigno is great as a beginners/lower-intermediate place - the food and drink is great and cheap. As someone said, the price of electronics is good too - got an SLR camera plus loads of other stuff for ~950 and the cost here would have been around 1200-1300. A bottle of spirits is around 5-7 eur.

Its a one of the more lively places too - good nightlife.

If you go, make sure you have Pizza in Marios (near Marcos bar), its the best in town.

The Faceplant squad have been quite a few times, going again in March. Great craic to be had, particularly snowboarder-friendly resort as well (see Avatar photo!).

That part's not the problem, chances you're going to be just out the door from Kokodi's anyway, so you'll just sleep the return journey!

Mario's pizza is not just the best in town, it's the best I've ever had in Italy.
Also, Bellavista (not far from Marco's) has the best fillet steak in town.

    Nope, but it is tax-free!

I think that a small (personal) amount of pretty much anything is quietly legal in Spain and Italy, although this isn't as well known as in the Netherlands.

I think you would be hard pushed to get any in Livigno however.

6.5hours? is it that bad? Thats a lifetime, the average is only 2/3 hours is it not for most resorts. Is it worth the effort?

I've only a week's snowboarding under my belt so im sure the slopes should be more than enough for me.

Is there somewhere else worth looking at? A decent nitelife would be preferable.

Ha, there are some comical stories among the Faceplant crew in that department...
