I have a Canon I560 and recently it has been acting up for the first time ever, It is printing out the wrong colours with some missing etc. All the tanks are full and I'm not sure exactly what is wrong. I did a test print by pressing the button on the printer so it is no the fault of the PC or the drivers.

I have not got original Canon cartridges in but rather Tesco Re-Manufactured ones that I have re-filled twice with the Tesco Ink-Refill kit (thingy with syringe and drill). I reckon this is to blame as I took out the print-head and found it to be rather grubby and cleaned it off with the Tesco cleaning solution (smells like nail-polish remover) and it still did not work, however it started working again out of the blue about a week ago but has gone back to it's old tricks again.

I am not sure what to do, I paid €275 for it exactly three years ago and was expecting to get 5 years out of it. Printer prices have since fallen since and the quality of the printing they does have risen. Like this Canon Printer I have takes bloody ages to print a sheet with colour on it anything up to 3 or 4 minutes for a page with a lot of ink cover while is relatively fast for just black text. Doing a page a minute, 22pages per minute me a*se.

I don't know what to do really as the printer was sufficient for my needs despite being a really low quality print when it came to photos and glossy paper. It 4,800 x 1,200 dpi maximum colour resolution and Ideally I would like to get a printer with a better print quality even though this seems standard although I reckon my canon never achieved this.

The main reason I bought the printer was it was fast (in the store) however it was slow as hell when i got home but the Ink was cheap around €12 per cartridge €50 to replace all the cartridges. I paid a bomb for it compared to current printers €275. I wonder would it be worth getting it either repaired or buying new. Obviously I will never buy Canon again over this and would like an all-in-one scanner-printer-copier and fax if it exists. I don't want to spend too much but am open to all suggestions and to find out what printers you yourself are using. I don't want something that costs a fortune in INK but tell it anyway as I could get it professionally re-filled as I will never again touch a Tesco ink product. I would like something that will do very good quality photos and great text too.

Any help or advice would be great

    Thanks
